Hard Chewing Gum
Ondřej DvořákIn short: a harder gum gives your jaw muscles more to push against — so it's a better workout than soft, synthetic gum. Mastic is the original 100% natural hard chewing gum from Chios. For a real chew, pick medium or large crystals.

Why a hard gum?
The harder the gum, the more resistance your jaw works against — much like adding weight at the gym. Mastic is firmer than ordinary gum, so chewing it gives the masseter (your main jaw muscle) a proper workout. Done consistently, that can help tone and strengthen the jaw muscles.
Keep it realistic: chewing tones the muscles, but how defined your jawline looks also depends on genetics and body composition. It's one good habit, not a magic fix — and ease off if your jaw feels sore.
How to chew hard mastic
Mastic starts hard and crumbly, then softens into a chewing gum as it warms up. Chew for about 20 minutes, a few times a day, and be consistent. A few tips:
- start with medium or large crystals;
- combine a couple of crystals if it sticks to your teeth;
- if the crystals feel very hard, sip some water before you start;
- store mastic in the fridge for the best texture.

Natural & sustainable
Unlike synthetic gum — a plastic base with sweeteners, flavours and colours — mastic is 100% natural resin with nothing added, and it's biodegradable. Chewing it also stimulates saliva and freshens breath naturally. A better choice for your routine and for the planet.
