Hydroxypropyl methylcellulose — also known as “hypromellose” — is a plant-derived material. HPMC capsules are made from it, contain no animal ingredients, and are widely used as a safe, vegetarian alternative to gelatin capsules.

How to swallow a mastic capsule easily

  1. Take a sip of water to moisten your mouth.
  2. Place the mastic gum capsule on the centre of your tongue.
  3. Take a big sip of water.
  4. Swallow the capsule.
  5. Take a few more sips of water to help it move down smoothly.

For best results, take mastic capsules on an empty stomach, about 30 minutes before meals.
