Chios Mastic at Vitafoods Europe 2025: Essential Oil in the Spotlight

After a successful participation last year, Chios Mastic returns to the international trade fair Vitafoods Europe 2025, taking place from May 20 to 22 in Barcelona. This time, the focus of the presentation will be on Chios Mastic Oil – a natural essential oil derived from Chios mastic, which will be featured in the special New Products Zone at booth 4J71.

What is Chios Mastic Oil?

It is a 100% natural essential oil obtained by steam distillation of the resin from the Pistacia Lentiscus var. Chia tree. The oil is known for its antimicrobial, antioxidant, and anti-inflammatory properties, containing bioactive compounds such as α-pinene, β-myrcene, and linalool.

Why the oil?

This year, the Chios Mastiha Growers Association (EMX) decided to highlight the oil form of mastic at Vitafoods. Due to its concentrated active ingredients, it is attracting increasing attention in scientific research.

Chios Mastic Oil will be showcased as an innovation within the New Products Zone. Visitors at booth 4J71 will learn about the effects of the essential oil, scientific evidence, applications in dietary supplements, and traditional production with Chios PDO certification.
